Thanks to everyone who joined us for a successful cleaning and greening event . on Saturday, April 26, 2025. We skirted the light rain and had about 40 volunteers come out to clean and green 4th Ave!
Special shout-outs to new and "old" FOFA members who helped lead the troops or invited friends to help - Sally, Pat C, Pat M, Nick, Fiona, Judy J, Kathy R, Miriam, Michael and I'm probably missing people - and all the partners listed below.
See more photos on the FOFA Instagram and also on The City Sponge linked here.
Some Results of the Greening Day on 4th Ave:

Volunteers - approx 40 with 20-25 from FOFA list; 15-20 from BrooklynOrg through GCC
Native Plants in Tree Beds (from GCC/BrooklynOrg) - over 38 planted
Mulch (donated from GreenWood Cemetery) - approx 8 cubic feet spread
Compost (created at GreenSpace Garden) - an enormous construction bag worth spread over street trees
