Clean up and Tree Stewardship for 4th Ave Street Trees
Our next big action is on Saturday Oct 4th! We will be caring for and celebrating our street trees as part of the urban forest.
Meet at Union St and 4th Ave to first CLEAN and then GREEN tree beds along 4th Ave. The events will be in tandem - join us for one or both! Same meeting place, different times. FOFA will be partnering with Gowanus Canal Conservancy (GCC), Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture (BSEC), the FOFA Trash Crew and CM Hanif's D39 Tree Care Team and the D39 Clean up Crew.
Saturday Oct 4th - Plan of Work
Meet at corner of Union and 4th Ave (by Brownstone Bagel shop)
9am - 10:30am - Trash Crew will pick up trash on street and in tree beds along 4th Ave
10am - 12:30 pm - Greening Crew will compost, mulch and plant daffodil bulbs where appropriate along 4th Ave. (Compost will be donated from the Greenspace Garden on 4th Ave; daffodils are from New Yorkers for Parks)
10am-2pm - Light Refreshments and Bathrooms will be available at BSEC, 269 4th Ave
The exact scope of work will depend on the number of volunteers so we hope you'll join!
